What are some simple ways to get spring cleaning checked off of your list while bored at home?

If you’re bored and out of things to do, consider cleaning your home! It’s all about taking it one step at a time, one room at a time. Here’s a step by step guide to finishing spring cleaning:

  1. Each Room
  2. Kitchen
  3. Living Room
  4. Bathrooms
  5. Bedrooms

1) Each Room

In every room of the house, wash the baseboards, window sills, doors, and walls from top to bottom. Dust the light fixtures, ceiling fans, and lampshades, replacing burnt light bulbs. Tidy up the laundry room for easy access while you’re cleaning.

2) Kitchen

Start by cleaning out the pantry and fridge throwing away expired foods and condiments. Move the fridge to vacuum the coils and mop the floor around it. Then, wipe down the kitchen cabinets and countertops with a microfiber cloth. Finish by setting up your dish soaps and sponges by the sink.

3) Living Room

Any mirrors, frames, or decorative items should be dusted and wiped clean. Vacuum any carpets, lampshades, and upholstery, and get pillows and blankets in the wash. Dust and polish fixtures and furniture, then tidy up the room for relaxing in.

4) Bathrooms

Clean and disinfect the bathroom tub, shower, and sink with your cleaning products of choice. Use an all-purpose cleaner to spray on bathroom countertops and surfaces and wipe down thoroughly. Don’t forget to wash the shower curtains, or replace them if you need to.

5) Bedrooms

Now is a good time to sort through belongings stored in your bedroom and decide what you can get rid of. Wash all of the bedding and pillows, then flip or rotate your mattress. Dressers and bedside tables should be cleaned with a disinfecting wipe.

Pro Tip: Save cleaning the floors of each room for the end of your spring cleaning checklist.

A Clean Home to Feel Comfortable In

Giving your home a good spring cleaning with this simple checklist should be done a few times a year to keep your environment clean. Take this time being stuck at home and bored to create the most comfortable home you can for yourself and your family.
